The Westport Beach Committee meeting on June 25, 2026, began with the approval of the previous meeting's minutes. The lifeguard report indicated a busy and successful opening week with no major incidents, though the new truck, acquired from the Highway Department, is a bit light and sometimes gets stuck in the sand. A letter of commendation for lifeguard Brandon, who assisted a patron's injured husband, was read aloud. The committee noted that 3,300 beach passes had been sold as of Tuesday, which is on track with previous years despite a price increase. Residents were urged to apply for their passes well in advance of the Fourth of July holiday. The committee discussed several upcoming purchases from the new fiscal year budget, which starts July 1st. Dana presented quotes for Moby Mats, with the committee agreeing to proceed with an order up to their $5,000 budget. They also approved the purchase of a new handicap-accessible concrete picnic table, allocating up to $2,500 for the item. The committee also discussed coordinating with the police department on the installation of new security cameras, funded by a $15,000 budget line item. A review of the draft FY2027 budget revealed several discrepancies from what the committee had previously voted on; Dana will follow up with town staffer Nicole to correct the figures. Other topics included coordinating with Police Chief Dunn on Fourth of July plans and managing the beach dumpster. After reports of illegal dumping of household trash and construction debris, the committee agreed to have the dumpster locked nightly around 8 PM when the gates are closed and reopened in the morning. The meeting concluded with a discussion about a recent increase in after-hours activity, including rude individuals and potential bonfires, and a motion to adjourn.

0:16I couldn't have uh motioned to adjurnn because I wasn't here.
0:22Yeah, that was I think that was a leftover. So I think you're supposed to say you're supposed to say Mr. Perry.
0:31So that be my only correction, but I can't make it because I wasn't I think I think you made it the previous week and it just got copied over. So uh anybody else have anything on the minutes?
0:45I'll entertain a motion.
0:50So move accept them as written and I'll have to second it because I'm the only one here that can't.
0:54Yeah. All in favor? I I Okay. So needs that correction. Okay.
1:00Lifeguard report.
1:03How's it going everyone?
1:04Good.
1:05Going good at the beach. Um opened up last week. Um it's been pretty steady flow of uh patrons. The weekends have been really busy. Um had good weather.
1:17Yeah, exactly. So which is great to see everyone enjoying themselves at the beach. And then uh it's been a pleasure working uh I was just talking to Dana.
1:25Been a pleasure working with um Jamie from the Lloyd Center. He's he's been excellent. Um he's there every day. So um you know he's very diligent. Um yeah and everything everything's pretty good.
1:39Okay. No incidences. No problem.
1:40No incident. Nope. No problems. No incidences.
1:43Truck's okay. I know.
1:44Truck is good. Um it's So you have a little problem getting stuck.
1:47Yeah. We get problem is it's too light. I think when we went to clean out the path.
1:51Yeah.
1:52There's a nesting birds. you probably know right on top on the rice. We couldn't push the sand there. So there's more sand than what you typically would have. So that's part of your problem.
2:02It might be. But yeah, no, we we just give it a push every day pretty much and you know, get unstuck. But yeah, it's it's a little light, but overall truck's great. You know, wash that every other day. So Okay.
2:13This is the one you from the uh school committee department.
2:17Highway department. Yeah.
2:18Run. I didn't know. I mean, looked okay.
2:20I didn't know how it runs.
2:20Yeah. No, it runs great.
2:21Only got like 68,000 miles, Chris said.
2:25It should be okay.
2:27It should. Yeah.
2:28Hopefully take care of it. So, and invoices have all been processed with all the repairs on the maintenance for it. Mhm.
2:34Yeah.
2:35Perfect.
2:36Okay, that's it.
2:37That's pretty much it. Yeah.
2:38Um I just want to add we got one correspondence an email from a patron at the beach who just wanted to compliment one of our guards.
2:46Oh.
2:46So, that's always a nice thing.
2:49Um, and she says, "Uh, hi. We were walking at the beach today when my husband pulled his hamstring. Brandon kindly asked us if we need help and got us back to the parking lot in the dune buggy. We are grateful for his concern and initiative." So, I shared that with Brandon and Mike. Um, and just what a wonderful thing for her to take the time to to let us know that one of the guards
3:12was very helpful.
3:13Yeah, because you usually only get the other side. You only get the other side.
3:16No, that was a good Yeah, it was pretty good. So, so he should uh pat himself on the back.
3:21Absolutely. I announced that to the person, too. So, yeah. No. So, everything's going pretty good. Any excellent.
3:26Yeah. Any other questions or anything?
3:28Oh, I don't know.
3:29Yeah.
3:29I think we're all good.
3:30All righty. Well, so Okay.
3:33Thank you.
3:33I'll see you guys.
3:35Good week. Whatever.
3:37Thank you.
3:37Okay. Uh life, uh I heard from the town clerk, we're up to pass number 3,300 as of Tuesday. Mhm.
3:46Which means we're on track. We were very slow starting off and I think because the weather was so bad. I will know better because usually after 4th of July it really drops off. But we'll know better and I'm sure uh anybody listening out there if this is this going out live. Valerie, please get your applications in for the 4th of July. Don't try to overwhelm the town clerk by sending me in on
4:11Wednesday expecting a pass on Thursday because you won't get it. And I occasionally get calls that I have to pass on to the town clerk or give them the town clerk's number. And there's still some people out there who thinks they can just get one the day of.
4:24Yeah, you can get one the day of.
4:26They're very good about issuing temporary passes if they can get them out to you in time. Even that takes a day or so. So, please do they by mail or how?
4:35No, you can go online, but it takes a couple of days to get it, you know. So, if you Thursday is a holiday for you guys, right? You have Thursday off or Friday?
4:44Friday.
4:45Okay. So, there'll be people on Thursday who will be expecting beach passes if you know because they sent them in Wednesday night and they won't be getting them for the pass has to be is mailed. It's a physical thing, right?
4:56Yeah. It's a sticker and it comes directly from uh but it it you still go online and it gets mailed to you, but it has to come Yeah. From the mail.
5:04It takes a couple of days. So the the town clerk will email a temporary pass which has the pass number on it and everything on 8 and 1 half by 11 piece of paper and it says temporary pass you know for this vehicle and it matches and they put it in their windshield.
5:20They've been good about that. But please please you know if you don't have them in you don't have by Wednesday screaming at the town clerk or uh anyone else is not going to get them there any faster. uh do your due diligence to get them in there by this week if you expect to be at the beach on 4th of July. Uh public service notice. So, uh so like I said,
5:473,300. I don't know how it breaks down, uh senior citizens slash I'm not sure.
5:53So, I'd be interesting to see uh but we're up to where we kind of were last year. So, it's I was a little nervous that we would drop off because of the price increase, but it hasn't.
6:05Apparently, it hasn't, I should say.
6:07I'm sorry, but the price increase was not that drastic.
6:11Well, talking to some people, you might have thought when you look at surrounding towns, we're very economical.
6:17Yeah. What was some town I was Somebody told me like 250.
6:21Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
6:22Is that Dartmouth or No. No. Dartmouth. I think Diamond's 125 but uh there places down the Cape is 250 residential.
6:30Yeah.
6:31Uh I mean they have shocking more facilities also, you know, bathroom showers you know, but they have things that we don't have, but regardless it still anyhow. Okay, Dana, you're up.
6:46All right. Um, so Moby Mats, I did reach out to Martin and Lisa through the disability commission and he gave me his recommendation for which Moby Mat to order and I can pass this around. So for a 50ft Moby mat and this is called the Blue J rollup walkway 5 foot wide mat.
7:05It's $2,399.
7:08He did say that shipping costs a lot cuz it's big and heavy.
7:12So it could be like a 500 or more shipping charge. Um he said when they got theirs for the beach before they actually decide to drive to New Jersey to pick it up.
7:22Um unless someone on from the beach committee wants to do that. Um but I'll pass this around for you to view and then I don't know if you want to vote on me ordering it or um you know what you want me to do from there.
7:38Uh well the money is not available till July 1st technically which is Tuesday soon.
7:45Uh, so I don't think we can I don't think we can do anything technically to the 1st of July, but I would say yes, the porter johns are further up the path this year.
7:56Oh, because when they put them down early, they hadn't done the second clearing on the path, so they couldn't get down to where they typically are. So they're probably another 100 ft up the path.
8:07Okay. So instead of being 350, they're probably 450 ft from them.
8:11So, um I'm not sure if we need because of that, we need to order more. I think they're on a a harder surface and the the path is holding up pretty well since they cleared it uh the week Friday before we opened.
8:26Um just as a reminder from me, I think you voted on $5,000 max. Is that correct?
8:34Or up to 350 ft or or something like that.
8:36Something like that. Yeah, but I can't spend more than 5,000.
8:39Correct.
8:39I believe so.
8:40Okay.
8:40I Well, I believe that's all we have in the uh line item for the warrant. Oh, actually, it's not a warrant article.
8:47It's a budget item.
8:48So, we did approve up to $5,000.
8:51Okay.
8:51But if it comes to $5,200, I mean, right?
8:54But you get even amount of footage, whatever. Yeah, I'll contact someone from the company and just see what $5,000 and I'll include the shipping in that um would get us, you know, so I'll let you know.
9:08It might be cheaper to ship because it's multiple rather than just getting a couple like possibility. You hope that there's some kind of That's the problem with any of that stuff. It's just so heavy that and shipping costs are on enormous right now because of the gas prices, right? Well, we can just order what we can order under that 5,000 mark or around that and then we can always allocate more for next year maybe.
9:30Perfect. Perfect.
9:32Okay. And then the handicap picnic tables, I got your emails and I printed them out. So, one of them it looks like I just want to make sure I have it correct. Which one you want me to order?
9:42They're both about the same. I don't know which. No, this one it's um 66 diameter 3 seat concrete picnic table is listed at $1,53 and then this one was listed at $2,65.
10:00Um it's seven seats. So, but I think it means they seat seven. I think it's the same thing.
10:09I just have to They both look like similar to me, I guess. I Yeah. So, I printed these out for you to look at. Um, the the disabilities commission, the one that seems more is this one and the one through this company, I think. Which one is this? Which company is it? I think that's the one we use we got them all from before.
10:27Okay.
10:27The park company.
10:28Yeah.
10:29Um, pretty sure. So, I don't mind ordering from them because they've held up pretty good. Some of them have they're starting to crack a little bit.
10:34And what's my budget for this again?
10:36Uh, I think we had $2,500. So, so it can't go over that.
10:40Yeah.
10:40Okay. So I the cheaper one obviously and I don't know what the I don't know what I just want to make sure the dimensions are the same you know for the cost and I think I think it's the exact same thing. These people are probably distributors not manufacturers so it's probably the same thing.
10:56Okay.
10:57I would think they look the same.
11:01Yeah. I don't see any difference. I know they come in different colors and I can't remember what the color is that we have on here.
11:07Uhoh.
11:10I know it's like pebble or something crazy like that and you know I I don't know. I mean well if I'm ever at the beach I'll try and go over there and take a picture.
11:17Yeah.
11:19Maybe I can maybe I can take a picture of it and you comparison. It'd be nice to have them match but I don't Okay.
11:26Not critical but So I'll order that in July as well.
11:31Yeah. That's going to be a bundle to ship too.
11:33Yeah.
11:34Um and that's heavy too.
11:38Oh yeah.
11:39My bad.
11:39Oh yeah. You can't pick these up.
11:41That's the whole point. That was Yeah, that's the whole point. You can't pick them up. Although, somebody tipped a couple of them over last year. They were trying to get them into the water and Oh jeez.
11:50You know, uh but they're they're pretty heavy, but you can't burn them and they're pretty indestructible.
11:56Good.
11:56And they can't get graffiti cuz you can wash the graffiti right off. So, good.
12:00It it kind of works.
12:02Yeah.
12:02The ones the three we have down there have been working very well for the 12 13 years they've been there.
12:08Still in good shape. They look good.
12:10So when I go to order, do you want me to just order or do you want me to like put in the queue and basically tell you the price and communicate with you beforehand or if I just As long as we're below the budget, I I don't see why we need to approve it or do anything here.
12:24Okay.
12:25I think it's the same product, right?
12:27Yeah. Yeah. I don't see what Yeah.
12:30Okay.
12:31Sounds good.
12:31I don't, you know, no need to complicate or delay things or stuff.
12:35Sure.
12:35Okay. And then in terms of equipment, I just had to order um some like gel packs for Michael um which help in emergencies with diabetics. So um that's at my office and he's going to be picking that up from me. But in terms of everything else, they have all everything they need except um they want sweatshirts which I didn't order. So I can order that in July too.
13:00Yeah. So because it gets chilly and Okay.
13:04So anyway. Okay.
13:06Okay.
13:06No, no, it's And then in terms of the security camera, I have no info on that. Is that I've been working with Lieutenant Patents is his name. Uh, and we can coordinate with that. I was just hoping that we could just start coordinating it since the money will be available. We have up to 15 I guess $15,000 we put into the budget at the total of it was 17,000.
13:30Yeah, something like that. And we had money left over. So, uh, we just have to coordinate with him that we should get the new security cameras.
13:38But if we have money left over, we have to extend that by like June 30th.
13:44Yeah, we can carry it over.
13:45Oh, we can?
13:46Yeah.
13:48I I thought when it's a new budget, it's totally new.
13:52It is, but you there should be a paper that circulates that says you can carry over your monies to carry over.
13:58Are you filling that out? I'm going to fill that out and conference.
14:02If you can fill that out, that would be great. Just carry over our monies. If you want me to do it, I can do I can contact Nicole.
14:08If you could do it, I'd appreciate just because I have camps next week and I'm helping with hiring the or interviewing with the new COA director and I got to got some like you would know exactly how much to carry over because you we have an enterprise fund so it's we can carry over the whole thing. It's not like it goes back to the general fund because the money comes out of the
14:29enterprise and it goes into Yeah.
14:31So you have the enterprise fund too, you know, you have the wetlands. We have the wetlands fund.
14:36The enterprise.
14:38We don't have to uh carry over. We just it's just always open.
14:43Yeah. So I think we just have to let know stick to whatever line and turn back into our budget essentially. So we should have enough money. I just we just need to coordinate with the All I know is all that paperwork is due I think by June 30th if not before. So and I'm doing all mine for wreck. Um um I'll try to remember to call Nicole tomorrow.
15:06Yeah, I think where it is at enterprise fund. It's like our wetland. I didn't realize that when I was saying you got to get it done.
15:14Yeah, I it automatic. It doesn't go into the general fund like to call.
15:18I think yours you don't have a revolving or an inspection. Do you have a revolving? I I have an I have a general account and a revolving. Okay.
15:25And a donation.
15:26So, it'll go back into the general fund, but I'll check that. I'll Okay. That all works. That all works good.
15:32And but then like in terms of the security camera, like you're ordering that with the police.
15:36Well, I'll get it coordinated with Lieutenant Vertent and tell him that you'll be coordinating the billing process.
15:42Yeah. I mean, if he sends me the invoice, I'll process it.
15:45Okay. Because uh Yeah. Just so because I got an invoice today from Flint.
15:52Yes, they they uh were doing the beach today because they were at my house doing my house and they said they were going down to Is that the mosquito?
16:01Last night it was last night.
16:03I got that invoice too. So because it rained the other day. Last night it was brutal.
16:07You know, it was like, you know, dive bombing, jump under the trees. Uh, so it was good that they spread today and not yesterday.
16:16It was pretty brutal. Uh, okay.
16:19Do you know which line item the um the video came out of?
16:24I believe it was uh other equipment or something. Um,
16:36additional equipment.
16:39uh $58.50.
16:46Okay.
16:47There was $9,200 in there. I think you use some of it for the lifeguard stuff, but I think Yeah. Um also, speaking of the budget, um this was Oh, I have copies. This was sent to me by Nicole today and she asked that you review it. It's for the fiscal year 2027.
17:14Um, I don't have that. Uh, it looks right. I can't remember.
17:23I don't think I have I know I have a spreadsheet at home.
17:27I might have the notes from when we discussed it last.
17:30I know I have I I had it on a spreadsheet at home. I don't have it here with me.
17:36Uh, it look I remember that number 186850 looks right. I think the 101 looks right. So, I'm assuming everything else is right. I think gas and oil is enough.
17:52They don't use very much gas and oil.
17:54They fairly new truck. I mean, they're only going four four miles on the road and Mhm.
18:00Okay.
18:04We usually don't even come close to using $500. You figure $500 is probably 50. I have notes from it. Um, they don't burn that much gas.
18:16Good.
18:24It looks Does that look right? Does that bottom number right? Let's start there and then we can um No, this looks wrong. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Yeah, this is wrong.
18:39What is that bottom number?
18:41186 850. I thought No, no. What's the 59?
18:44These were my notes from when you all voted and discussed on each line item.
18:49Oh, no. But you've got the 186 includes the extra money we put in at town meeting.
18:55Oh, that's fine. But like if you look at just this vehicle and repair originally it's a thousand but you upped it to 5,000 and it um it still shows it at a th00and here.
19:07Yep.
19:08And then here for subtotal and wages it says 101 100. Oh okay. Total salaries.
19:16Yep. That that's correct. Yep.
19:20Um 25,000 for advert or professional services. Yeah, that was approved.
19:302,000 for postage. Yep.
19:32Gas and oil stayed at 1,000.
19:35Printing. Yes.
19:37Computer. Yes.
19:39Uniforms, you guys. Up to 600.
19:43And then 50. And then you up travel to 2,100.
19:49We have traveled 2,100.
19:51Oh, sorry. Sorry. Miscellaneous charges and expenses.
19:55I was going to say we're all going on a junket somewhere.
19:59I just misread that line. And then additional equipment 115 be kept.
20:08I think I don't know.
20:10Like here it says is that with your added?
20:14Yeah, I think that's with the 20 we put on at town meeting. Here it says 9,200 and here she has it originally at 34200.
20:24Yeah, cuz we added 25 at town meeting.
20:26Maybe she just stuck it there not knowing where we wanted to put it.
20:30Yeah, I don't know. Okay.
20:34Um because that's why it's higher than what we because we added the money at town meeting and I don't know if she knew where exactly where to put it.
20:41And then okay, she has overtime and incentive. Okay. So, yeah, it's just the vehicle repair and maintenance, the uniforms and clothing, and miscellaneous charges and expenses that are off.
20:55So, did you want to talk to her or do you want me to?
20:57If you can talk to her, I can talk to her if you want me to. But I will that up the bottom number.
21:02Yeah.
21:05But what is that 59,000?
21:08Yeah. Yeah. I don't know what that 59 mil. Oh, that's how much you have of that's left over available in the expansion. Okay. I cuz after you guys vote on this, did you ever send or something?
21:21Yeah, I was Well, I sent it to Jim when we did the budget. I sent it to Jim.
21:29So, maybe got lost.
21:30Chris wasn't here yet, right?
21:34So, I don't know what happened cuz we voted on it. We voted on the finger. It's in the And it's in the minutes what we voted on. I can't remember what not every line item, but if you could for me what you sent to Jim, maybe that would help.
21:48Okay.
21:48With changing it with Nicole. Like I mean I took notes so I have the proof but if it's from you too that'd help.
21:56All right.
21:56Okay.
21:57Okay. That works.
21:59All right.
22:00That's all I got.
22:02Corres. No correspondences.
22:03Just that one.
22:04One good one. Oh, just one good one for one today.
22:08Uh, Fourth of July coordination.
22:11I read the shorelines this week. Had an article quoting me when I I didn't meet with the police chief this week or last week or the last year.
22:22I think it was last at the end of last each summer.
22:26Remember when we met?
22:27Yeah. And I don't know where he got the quotes. he got in there and it's like so I don't know what Shorelines is doing but anyway but I think they put that in there might have been at the request of Can you contact Chief Dunn to see what the story is for Fourth of July?
22:44Uh like what his plans are if we need to do anything we as the beach committee needs to do anything.
22:50So the plan from our meeting back then was that they would have someone posted there at the beach, right? I don't know if they want us to do anything special or nonspecial or just stay out of the way or whatever.
23:04Okay.
23:06That good?
23:07Yeah.
23:08Uh I can try to call him, but I I always forget and then I I'm in and out and all over the place. So I'm never around.
23:18Okay, I'm going to skip over number seven until we have a full board and see what's going on there. Did uh Mr. Berling game put in a letter?
23:29He's put it in twice. He's still interested. Um and yeah.
23:34All right. I don't know what's going on with Joel and so I Anyway, uh okay. I think that's all that's on me. Any member input?
23:45No issues, concerns.
23:47Looks good down at the harbor.
23:50Roads in good shape. A lot of people there. I haven't noticed a lot of people.
23:54Seen anybody? No.
23:55No, I haven't seen a lot of fishermanmen. I haven't seen a lot of anybody.
23:57A lot of fishermanmen, but no no cars.
24:00Well, not in the evening. I haven't seen I might see one or two, but not like typical.
24:05Mhm.
24:06Uh, okay. No issues. Trash issues. Oh, we might want to discuss trash issues.
24:12They did pick up this week. Okay.
24:14Thank God because it was half full from last year sitting there and then it got full pretty quick this year. And I just to let you know because when I went down there last night, we had a little issue with people down there.
24:26What happened?
24:27Well, they were a lot of rude people and they weren't getting out to quarter 9 and stuff like that and everything. So, it's starting. But I went down there and they were against dumpster chairs, umbrellas, and everything like that. And that's my fear that if the dumpster's secured, I'll call it.
24:47Right. True. it like you or the or Mikey could lock.
24:51I could lock it when I get down there. I could lock it when I when I get down there. So, nothing happens at night. But I just my fear is what happens is when they leave, they they take the things when a lot of people come off at like 6:00, 6:30. And if there's no place to put the trash, I know where it's going to end up. It's going to end up in the parking lot,
25:09right? But the guards are there to take care of it, but not when they're gone. They leave at 5. At 6:00, there's no barrels around.
25:18So it if they don't have a dumpster to throw it in they Right. But I think so John Sean and I had a conversation about the dumpster at the beach because Michael witnessed someone just pull up their car, open the back and unload all their trash into the dumpster boxes.
25:37Yeah. So obviously the dumpster is for use of the guards to put the trash in there at the end of the day. And I know Sean, you you are saying that like if people leave trash in the parking lot and stuff, you're trying to avoid that and that if they see the dumpster there, it's not locked, they could put it in there.
25:56That cuz I see them do it all the time.
25:58Yeah.
25:58You know, the chairs and the umbrellas, too. But I mean the, you know, they go and they look over and they walk over or they drive over and they chuck things in there.
26:06Yeah.
26:06Because the the problem we had before were usually barrels, even one in the parking lot.
26:11Mhm. They get full and then the seagulls and everything else got into them and then you get there the next morning it'd be tipped over and there'd be trash scattered everywhere. Right. That was the problem. That's why Well, the trash you're talking about is like just broken chairs and things like that.
26:23No. No. It's like, you know, bags of food, you know, potato chips. People are very good. I got to tell you, they don't leave. They like to throw it away so that when they, you know, all their little treats, whether whatever they're having at the beach, they put them in a little Yeah.
26:38plastic, you know, supermarket bag and the pleasure of you as a committee of what you think we should do. I just think having an open dumpster like that with no oversight is we can close it at night. We can close it at night. That's not a problem.
26:53And lock it though.
26:54Yeah. And lock it. I go down lock. I can go down and lock it and open it when I get there in the morning.
27:00Yeah. Yeah. I am for that.
27:02I just don't want I just don't want to lock when the lifeguards leave because a lot of people come off with trash and if they don't have a place to put it, I know where it's going to end up. Right.
27:10I I just think we want to discourage people taking their personal trash and knowing that they can put it in there, right?
27:17When When do you uh 8 Well, 8:00ish, I'll call it. Uh, you know, I think early in the season there's a lot of people come down moving boxes and stuff like that and then they got to figure out what to do with all the junk they moved down with and they chuck it in there because there were a lot of Amazon boxes.
27:38Yeah.
27:38In there. all of that appeared all of a sudden uh for whatever period. Maybe the Amazon guy did it. I don't know. But it's like there were a lot of and and that's recyclable. So, you know, call the guy the cardboard. They're just being lazy at that point or they're not residents or something.
27:55Mhm.
27:55But I've seen occasionally you like the guys coming out of trips with trash go over there and chuck it in there. But I would think trips would have their own dumpster.
28:04They do. A lot of times, you know, they start driving away and they realize, "Oh, oh, shoot. I got a bag of crap here." And, you know, and and you know, and I'm as guilty as the next person. Like, I'll look down when I'm, oh, I guess bag of your trash. I'll chuck it in there. But, uh, if you don't have something like between that 5 to 7, I'll call it magic hour. A
28:25lot of when most people leave the beach.
28:26Yeah.
28:27With a lot of trash and kids and everything like that.
28:30Yeah. It'll be I know what used to happen because we took away the the barrels that were in the parking lot.
28:36The corner of the parking lot became a landfill of oh, let's just drop it here where the barrel used to be, you know, and then you go in the morning and every raccoon and seagull and skunk or whatever and and it's all over the parking lot or dog is all over the parking lot. So, uh, so the idea I can lock it up at Yeah. So, the idea is to lock it at 8
28:55when you lock the gates and then unlock it when in the morning. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think that's a problem.
29:00Sounds good.
29:01There's not much we can do during the day.
29:02Yeah.
29:03Okay. Uh anything else? Anybody else? You have anything? Anything? Flynn's on the on the brow. Uh everything seems to be okay.
29:14Yeah. Well, they did their first spray today so I didn't see him this morning. So, uh usually there he said he he was at my house at like um 7:15.
29:25Okay. It was late. So, it was Yeah, he was going to be about 9ish down to the beach.
29:30Okay.
29:31In spring.
29:32Uh I think everything else Mhm.
29:35the weather's gotten nice, so I think everything hopefully uh will continue.
29:44Any other problems? Anybody else concerns, issues? Dana, you have anything?
29:48No.
29:48Okay.
29:49Uh, I think we need to circle back on the call not just on the next year's budget, but on what we made sure.
29:57I'm not in the office tomorrow because I'm working Saturday and Sunday, but I will call Nicole and talk to her.
30:03We're just in and our current budget. I don't know when they when do they actually close the 30th? They close everything the 30th or they closing this week like um sometimes they close like the Friday the week. would have.
30:16So, all bills are due on Tuesday, June 30th.
30:20Okay. So, they're closing next week.
30:22All right.
30:24Okay.
30:25But she sent this out today saying, "Let me know by Friday."
30:29Okay.
30:30So, I'll I'll give her the update about the um the 27 budget.
30:34Okay.
30:36I think everything else seems to be okay. I don't Yeah, last night was my the first problem. They It's been real good all year. Last night was for whatever reason it was there were people waiting waiting for me to leave.
30:52Wow.
30:54Waiting outside for me to leave.
30:56So you think they were trying to do a bonfire?
30:58Yeah. Yeah.
30:59They were there were a couple of cars and they were just milling about. They weren't even It wasn't like they parked and went going for a walk on the beach.
31:06This is like And this is like quarter of nine.
31:08Wow.
31:09Yeah.
31:11So So how did that get resolved? I left and everybody was out of the parking lot eventually and then I I got shut and left.
31:22Yeah.
31:23Because I don't know what else you can do, right?
31:26Can't stop people from milling out. But my fear is I didn't I don't have a chance in the morning to go out in the beach to see if it's trashed when I open up. So, I don't know. I'm sure Mike would have said something.
31:38Yeah, I think. But I don't know if the lifeguard chairs are in the water. They don't go up into the dunes typically.
31:43Like they just stay on the path and go to the beach. I don't think they search the dunes.
31:47No, but they, you know, that would be something they might want to take a look at. You know, just get on top of the dunes, take a quick look to see if something's been Okay, I can tell.
31:56You know, yeah, if it's not busy or, you know, because if there's a mess in the dunes or something's going on, we need to know that. I don't expect them to do anything about it unless they want to unless it's real slow. But it'll be because there's two spots. One where the birds are nesting which Jamie has a I told Jamie that's those birds are not going to make it. That's a bad spot. That's party
32:18central there. And the other one is deep in the dunes quite a bit.
32:24Okay.
32:24Where they have the bonfires and stuff.
32:26So I don't know. You would smell it.
32:29Usually I could usually when I get there in the morning I can smell when they've had a bonfire. You can you get that sniff yet burnt wood smell coming off the ocean.
32:37It's like, okay, someone had a fire last night. I don't know what happened last night. I don't know. They may have been It might be completely innocent that they were just going to want to go to the beach.
32:46Yeah.
32:48I don't want to cast dispersions on everybody who was there late, but Well, that's another thing I've been meaning to try and do is update the town website under the beach page to list some of the rules that um Perry suggested and we can put in there about no bonfires at the minute. Thank you.
33:08Yeah. Well, it says that I mean and and everybody knows that, but I don't think they understand that. They don't understand the reason why. I think they don't.
33:16So, if we took all of May and almost the end of June before there was a problem.
33:21So, better than previous years when it starts as soon as the weather gets nice.
33:26So, Mhm.
33:29Okay. I'll entertain a motion then an adjournment.
33:33All right.
33:34You got it. 522.
33:36Second. Second.
33:37522. This time you did make the motion.
33:40Yes, I did.
33:43All in favor? I
