All right. Hi, this is the Westport Bike and Walking Path Committee and we are meeting on Thursday, May 28th at 5:34 and we're going to start with our open meeting. Uh we are going to do introduction. So I am Gail Rodri. I'm the bike chair for the Westport walking path and bike committee.

Keith works in Providence. So, the next meeting uh next item is open discussion as required. So, we did uh pass the meeting notes out. Um, and I don't know if you guys got a chance to go through it or catch anything. Um, but they're pretty much from the AI version. And then I just made sure some spellings like what Tapa was. Uh, it looks good to me.

Okay, the next uh open discussion is we're going to have is about an Adabboro volunteer.org or that's looking for um ways that we could possibly help with a situation where there was a young gentleman that lives with his grandmother and the young gentleman has a head injury and has collected a lot of bikes in the house where it almost became a problem

with hoarding. And Megan, can I just throw this to you just because you got it from Donna Amarol and Right. So, I was just asked if the bike committee could help um collect the bikes and repair them. There was a suggestion on the volunteer page that maybe they could be repaired and sold.

Would that be something that we could talk to them about?

Yes.

If we we would be engaging in something like that, like to be able to sell them for them. Have to find out the details on that.

Okay. All right. So, that means it it looks like there's more information to come, right? Okay. That's great because uh information, let me just write this down. Uh because when I looked at it, it kind of that um email uh can I help goes right to this organization that is a nonprofit that organizes volunteers like and then it said the prompt was how can I help and what can I do? So, of course,

we didn't want to speak for the group or um situation on how we can do that. And so, what I did was when I went to Westport um Dartmouth Pathway Committee's meeting on Tuesday, the gentleman, Bill Tremble, who takes the bikes from our station, is the one that runs the YOU program where they bring the bikes. He collects bikes at our transfer station and he'll bring them to New Bedford and the kids will

kind of sort of Frankenstein a bike together. If it's losing parts, he'll just have the kids learn how to repair and put it together. So, I did catch Bill at the meeting on Tuesday. And so, uh, and Bill is pretty much, um, you know, the expert. Like when he comes to our bike transfer recycling centers, he'll let Bet Bet and I what know what he likes. Like leather seats are good.

Uh, certain things like that. So, he's the expert. So, I asked him if it I showed him the email and asked him if it's something that he'd be interested in. But right away I said, "If you're looking for more bikes, this might be some way you can get it."

But unfortunately, he said, "Where is it?" And I said, "At a borrow." And he said, "Too far, too far for him."

So that I think that may be a hindrance uh as far as transporting them um at this time.

Um, the other thing is there is another group at Matapoit. Um, uh, oh, I can't remember their name.

They help us with the bike recycling as well, but they're Maapoise it. So, I didn't reach out to them yet just because of the transportation, but it seems like they're looking for volunteers to initially go in and be sensitive to the person that's hoarding with the health challenges, right?

Um, so why don't we do this? Why don't we just wait to see more information that comes, okay?

And see how we can help because we I don't see us I don't feel comfortable assessing bikes.

uh saying, "Well, that's good." Or I mean, we can by looking at it, but um that may be somebody in that vicinity in Adelber may do that. And then if they're looking for places to recycle it into bikes again, we could think about doing some trips to Attabo and bringing it to yester year.

Right.

Is there any other thoughts on that? Um, so like I said, I'll follow up and see what they're looking for as far as they want us to repair and sell them for them and give the money to the family or Oh, that I like that idea.

What their thoughts were.

So, and then back back to the family.

Okay. Because they are in need and the grandfather is elderly.

Um Ed, we just got through the introductions and then the approval of the minutes and we had a talk about um the attabur uh situation where there's a hoarding situation with a young man with a mental um uh disable and he lives with his grandfather and they're hoarding bikes.

So yeah, I heard about that.

Yeah. So Megan decided that uh a good uh way to go is to get more information about it because part of what they were looking for is possibly having bikes repaired and then sold and give the money to the family to look into more about what their expectations are.

Uh, so I did see Bill Tremble at the BA uh Dartmouth Pathway Committee's meeting and he's the one that does the YOU program and I asked him if he needed some and then he said um at a burl no I got enough for now. So that's how we left it. But we'll we'll keep that for the next meeting and talk about um you could just let us know and then I can address the group.

um new business. So, this is um interesting because our appointments are going to sunset June 30th of this year. So, uh the board of selectment secretary is asking for members if you're willing to keep on to let me know and I'm supposed to let her know by um June uh June 8th uh for commitments. So, but do you want to I like to keep on You're going to make it as Okay. And um Michelle,

Now, we're at the events and updates and Earth Day was How did you feel about Earth Day? We had it this year and we ran it um 10 to one and we it was as successful as the year before when we did it in two days with the number of uh bikes given and um it was about only just a little couple bites more than they did last year.

And do you have any other thoughts about that?

Well, I think it was a lot of activity.

One person dropped off I think six or seven bikes that she had was fantastic.

Yeah. So that was it was good to see that many people come.

Yeah. And um I I want to reflect on a couple of comments I heard from people is saying, "Oh, when can you do this again?" And we go, "Oh, we only do this, you know, once a year." But um but there certainly can come back.

It's it's it's there and it's open.

Yeah.

Yeah. So we don't we don't add much value Yeah. And um so I that was heartwarming for me to hear those th those comments.

Okay.

And seeing anybody else no more comments. We're going to talk about River Day. So it is June 20th 26 uh which is a Saturday but and I signed us up as a bike committee to be there but I have a conflict um which I didn't anticipate and uh so I will be in New York on the 20th.

However, if it rains I'll be available on the 20th. So, um, and at times sometimes they do it a day later. So, having done this in the past, I'm not sure, Megan, if people are not comfortable to to run it. Um, I certainly wanted to see what everybody said. We we did get an offer from Bet Low to come back and help with the um with the River Day process. However, she

is retired. So, I want wanted to respect that, but I will see her tomorrow night.

Uh, and I will ask her her thoughts.

So, you would be able to be there. So, yeah, I have a table and a booth.

And and so we do have these um posters that I will pass that on to you before I Yeah, there was a lot of people came by last year. A lot of interest. So it was good to see. Glad you went.

Yeah. And um usually they do ask for uh a kids um project, which I didn't know for the first two years, but I did last year. So I will offer uh bet if she wants and then she could you know I could help her plan something ahead of time.

And it's just something to keep the busy while you talk to the parents. Yeah.

So we are now at the uh updates uh about the South Coast Bikeway Alliance Northern Senior Green Route which is involving three towns in uh one city, two towns, one city, Westport, Dartmouth and New Bedford. There was a R RFP that had been vetting four uh organizations to take on this um engineering design and I just found today PAR group won that contract today.

So that PAR group is uh the people that helped us do this this last project for Wata and so uh the formal announcement is out and so we will get more information. I don't know much information about that process because uh Mike Burrus our town planner has been uh representing Westport. So, for me, I I'm I know as much as you guys, but we'll get you more information for the next time

and we'll put uh more information on the Facebook page. The other thing about the Northern Scenic G Greenway is there's problems with um some of the residents from Westport and Dartmouth having it for Old Bedford Road in Old F far.

And there's been some chatter on social media pages and we're concerned that there had been some misinformation about uh our goal is to take down uh stone wall fences. Uh put it in in their front yards. Um what was the other? It was it was mostly that they were going to steal the pro people's property to oh infringe on their uh property in eminent domain. Yeah, that's that's the big concern.

Uh so what uh I went to Westport uh uh I mean Dartmouth uh pathways committee on Tuesday. there was 1550 people there was what we want is people to get engaged and get information so they can make a educated decision on um how it will affect them and so it was pretty robust and I would say mostly against and a lot of people concerned that they hadn't been reached out there personally.

Um but then there was the the South Coast Bikeway Alliance hosted some people at their last meeting last month.

So we are engaging the people to come forward and let us know their concerns.

This is only uh this RFP that par one is only going to get us to 25% of engineering planning and so this process is just starting. However, we've been getting money from Mass Trails Grant for the last two years and we've been pretty open about having open meetings and talking about it. Uh but we do have to be mindful that part of those years was during CO when Serped was doing um which

is the government agency that does helps with the assessment for the feasibility study and they there was challenges to get people to come out. So, but we're definitely uh as as a bike group, we're willing to take conversations and we want people to engage and get the information.

Um is there any other comments about that?

The the contract that was awarded to PAR, is that for the um aerial surveying?

Yes. So, we Yep, that is the aerial surveying that's part of the feasibility study. So that's really not anything to upset anybody.

It is not what the most people were uh upset was and to their credit is they're like, "Oh, if I back out of my driveway and and the path is on the um right away," which certainly is enough room to put it, they would have to engage with possibly going over the path and watching out for bike riders and walkers. Well, you don't have to do that.

Yeah.

And so um the other concern was that they had was certain places are um you know there is a bridge that and then the water uh wershed is a concern. So, but these are all going to be through this study uh revealed to us as bike enthusiasts, people that are enthusiastic to get a bike in the area, but also for the residents. So, we'll all find out together. Hopefully, those residents will make their concerns known. And

there'll be a lot of, as Sandy puts it, robust open meetings that we're encouraging people to come and learn about it and voice their concerns.

Uh, anything else? Okay. All right. And so, um, the other, uh, updates is the, uh, T, uh, to oh, I had a spelling here.

Tour is having their bike uh ride this Sunday, May 31st. So that's already been people have registered for it, but um uh it is u a popular one because people will ride from bike uh ice cream shop to ice cream shop in the south coast and that's a very popular one. Uh we like to let the residents know if they are interested in that next year, they can register there for next

year. It's usually at m in the May month.

It is at this it was like this week like Wednesday. So, um but they're also looking for help too. If anybody last minute, you know, anybody that lives in town and would like to help, sometimes they're looking for helpers.

Um the other bike path that's coming up in August 30th is our South Coast Bikeway Alliance annual pedal for the path. This is I forgot how many years. I think we've been doing this 12 years, 10 years.

I don't have that exact number, but we've been doing it uh I would say yeah well over five years. And it is um to de to be determined where that path will go. And if anybody's interested on that, they can go to the South Coast Bikeway Alliance website and the event will be listed there. And um it's usually pretty popular. Have you written that at all? Yeah.

Oh, yes, I did. Yes, I did.

Yeah, you did. So, not last year, but the year before.

Yeah. and they're trying to change it up every year to highlight different um towns in the south coast and um you know not to leave anybody out. So that to be determined and then we have uh another bikes and bruise uh bike ride June 27th. Uh I helped do did that once volunteer at Buzzard's Bay Brewery and it was it was a lot of fun.

Um and so uh they're doing it at Cisco's Brewery in New Bedford. Uh and again they're looking for help. But what why this impacts South Coast bikeway is that people registration will a percentage will come back to the south coast bikeway group will which in turn funds people west our committees like us when we went for a mass trails grant this recently um and we haven't heard back on whether

we were awarded uh the match uh is help helpful when we needed I think we got $5,000 from South Coast Bikeway to match into that grant and if it's awarded, we have the money there. So, that's that's also a fun ride. And uh and now we're at the point where we are at going to be filming a discussion for the residents of Westport. And as a bike group, we try to do outreach

and be available to talk to people like and uh we did that with the bike recycling, but we are taking this opportunity to tell you a little bit about what the work we've been doing.

Uh, I will say this that um the South Coast Bikeway Group has uh acknowledged that the Westport Committee in Westport as a town has really been generating a lot of money to put into the bike paths in and safety people walk. Uh our mission uh mission for the bike committee is to make westport a safer and more connected community for walking, jogging, biking and family rec recreation.

We support safe routes for residents of all ages. Whether we take you take a stroller for a walk or commuting by bike or enjoying the outdoors. As a part of the South Coast Bikeway Alliance, we are working towards a regional and local plan for trail that connects and strength strengthens uh recreation, transportation, environmental sustainability, public health, and most importantly, economic vitality.

So that is we're going to um segue into the panel. Um and I will be leading that talk.

Um uh some of the some of the members have been just joining on this year. So um that's the whole reason I'm going to be talking about my experience with the bike pass. Um and we'll probably have you pipe in from time to time. Um this is I'll just give you this is the uh the map of the connection from Westport's uh Wata connector and then we will follow this uh

actually this is a little bit old I apologize but this will go down uh route six Um and then head over to Old Fall River Road and then the Northern Scene route route which is another mass trails will will follow this to Old Fall River Road into New Bedford near the airport and then connect to a balloon line which is uh New uh New Bedford has a um trail all already in existence

and the uh not the dotted line but the full solid line. And so this is the connectivity we're trying to make happen. Uh we are a south coast bikeway group. We try to connect from Swansea to Wearham and where one town leaves off the other one picks up. So we learn from each other's uh towns and then we just try to make that connectivity.

Uh so the Wata connector we had uh we had PAR uh come and we had an open meeting. I believe it was uh about a year and a half ago and they presented us with um with a uh this is the first preliminary design. So we we have to go through another process of design before we get to the 25% design portion and that grant we will hear during this summer if we

got this but this is the first grant and so we this is from the quicken rail trail off of the south wata and then it will come over and cross in front of whites of Westport and where it does cross in the whites The Westport is a plan for what we call transportation improvement pro project with Westport is there and they're going to put in um road calming and a signal so that people

can cross bikes and walkers can cross safely.

So there was uh with PAR there was a couple of um the designs are different. One was the boardwalk, one uh a little bit uh closer to the water and then I guess the other design was on the sidewalk. But at that open meeting they decided they did not want to be near Route 6 at all. the the traffic is too fast turning the corner and uh the walkers um bike riders would feel uncomfortable

and um we also had the group from um the disabled commission on disabilities.

What is it?

The commission on disabilities.

Yeah, the commission on uh disabilities was in attendance that day. So we had learned things that we were interested in that they were seeing to be made sure that was made their their process having accessibility as as somebody who who's walking or biking.

Uh so that's our WAPA connector project.

Uh this proposed uh use of rail would extend the Quick Kachan Trail from Far River to Westport creating a critical connection with the South Coast bikeway network. We did it did this um I wrote the first grant and then um with uh we were integral with the town planner to write this first grant. And so our bike committee uh did a lot of the work uh for that along with the town planner

Mike Burrus. Uh we did community outreach. We um asked for letters of support in the community. Uh we helped gather data information collection and some of the grant preparation.

So with that grant in June 21st 24 2024 we received 6,000 uh 96 for for that first process of the wood top of connection.

Um so this project is uh engineering for approximately 1,254 ft and uh will close the gap in the Westport um to um Dartmouth connection. The project also includes a bus shelter back bike racks, adjacent part parking, and a multi-modal transportation access, which everybody knows the bus goes by there. There's a bus shelter and the bus is free now, so it makes it accessible for everybody.

in we're waiting to hear on the 2026 additional mass trails grant to extend this further north.

Uh we did talk about we talked about the northern scene greenway already in the first part. I'll just briefly say that's the town Westport received the community preservation act uh funding for that. We also this uh recently received $10,000 from Bakos Bank for a match and the funds will continue this study to be planning for the Northern Scenic Greek Green Room in Westport. It's only a 2.7 mile

multi-use path on Old Bedford Road and uh will connect with a larger South Coast bikeway region.

um the collectively between the three uh m municipalities uh the project was awarded $2,080 I'm sorry 280,000 dollars at the mass trail grant and that's again for that uh RFP that just got awarded to PAR engineering and design and uh this grant was part of a statewide 7.5 million Mass trails investment in supporting 50 initiatives across Massachusetts. So we're very grateful for that for receiving that. Um

we did the public engagement for this first grant for Wata. Uh I have the date now. It's March 27th and we um we had the engineer from PAR present it to everybody and they took uh our information and then they came back and then they did a final report. So, so it's very important for people to know that it's not always a done deal. you have a say.

And I this is the work I was doing for the Y in New Bedford and we were trying to prepare the residents for the rail coming down and we uh were working on the residents to get aware and they would say but they said that 30 years ago and then we said it's coming and gentrification is coming. So really urge uh people to get civically involved and have a say so they can have ownership of

their neighborhood because there's nothing worse than not knowing, not hearing, and not participating. And then after it's done, that window of opportunity is closed. So please take the time to be civic engaged and reach out to us because we're that's what we're here for as Westport residents.

we talk about the bike recycling program that we uh started in 2021 and that's a collaborative with the Westport Health and that was uh also with the transportation station team. Um this was a brainchild from a former member which I'll shout out is uh Betlo and she came up with the idea. It keeps bikes out of the waist stream, encourages reuse repair, it provides bicycles to community organizations and family, and it

supports the regional bike recycling collaboration. Again, we work with Dartmouth, uh, Bill Tremble for the New Bedford site for the YU youth organization and the Nata Poisit, um, Friends of Mata Poise recycling program for their community.

Um in 20 uh 25 in October the board of health received a reduce reuse repair micro grant to construct covered bike recycling reycling stations. So since then we have constructed two leantos with bike racks where the bikes um can be sheltered until we get other people picking them up or transfer them to yester year so that they could recycle it into the gifts for gives program for the children of a new Bedford.

Um the this we did this one time and it it was it was good. It was good to get out but we did a trails day volunteer effort and that celebration was uh it was in April and there's a trails day work party. We cleaned up and maintained the John Reed Road Trail at Horseneck Beach Reservation, which is Westport's first bike path. So, uh, we're we were fortunate to get that and we wanted to

make sure it's it's still people want to ride by it. Um, the last thing is public education and cultural programming. This is something we did in 2024 and uh we had uh Betlo help us uh when she was a member put this on and it's called Bike Trails I have known and loved and May 16, 2024 here at the library the community riders shared presentations and slides highlighting their favorite bike path and they were

featured the East Coast greenway ma western mass um Massachusetts trails.

There was a Delaware trail system that somebody spoke about and then of course our closest one to our proximity is East Bay Path and also the Dartmouth uh heritage trail. And the event explored economic uh and tourism benefits of the tra trail bike trail systems and um that presentation should still be on Westport Community Television I believe. So so if you're interested you can check it out

and that was May 16th 2024.

Um the other things we work on is cy um bike safety initiatives.

uh following a bicycle accident involving a child in 2024, the community intensified the bicycle safety a ad a advocacy and Massachusetts at the same time came out with uh a 4ft passing law which requires anybody going past a walker or bike to and at times have to get into the oncoming traffic do it safely. have to keep 4 feet away from um the person walking or riding a bike. So, uh we

identified as a bike group about eight locations we thought was at high risk and uh August 2025 worked with the highway department to make those signs and post them. Uh, and so we have uh some on Old County Road, Main Road. Um, there's a couple of them. I just remember here that you might be able to see them. Um, Sanford Road was it?

Sanford Road.

Horseneck Road.

Horsene Neck Road. Um, and the the only thing that we didn't get done was Route 77 because that is a state highway.

Route 177.

177. Yeah. So, that was a state highway.

So, uh, we may want to look at do asking that the state to do that in in the next cycle um when we come back after summer recess.

Uh we the other thing we uh were fortunate we've been very blessed this year and we got complete streets transportation planning there was the town of Westport planning department uh with the help of us as a bike group to bring the complete streets from tier one tier tier 2 and then to tier three where we identified the priorities that open meetings collected the data for and and where would we want

to have some safety routes uh addressed.

And the town got 400 $499,800 for complete street grant. And this was um this was a special grant. They called it a leap grant uh for mun municipalities that have or rule and h doesn't have the manpower to um you know for the municipality to be able to to do this. It gives the rural uh area a leg up to make safety concern uh changes. Uh so that will be on Sanford

Road uh and also a roadway safety improvement near the head of Westport.

Um the community reach that we reach out, we talk about people we want to not be keeping things not um that we want everybody to be aware of. And we have a Westport walking path Facebook with 1,400 followers. Uh we have a strong engagement with Westport residents and re regional supporters and uh the committee hopes to continue our continue our outreach and participate through all

age groups. Um and I'm almost done. We did I did reach out on the uh on the Facebook group to ask we had thought maybe we would take questions from the town and take them and and then we would read them. This was the portion that we were going to answer questions from the community discussion. Um there was not none. So, um, but we hope to answer anything you may have in the future and

we'll be reaching out again to try to see what, uh, you our fellow residents in town have in mind and what would they like to see as far as a bike group? And is there anything else we would one you missed I think that you all did um, was you cataloged a uh, list of where the bike racks were?

Yes, we did. Oh, yes, we did. Thank you for that. Yes, that's something we're working on now. And um and then I have to get it to Michael. That's on my to-do list.

So, we're trying to find where the bike racks are and then if we can make recommendations of where maybe some should go, right?

Yeah. Yeah. And and and that will enable people to to think twice about do I want to spend money on gas or can I just ride my bike to a coffee shop in town? Um, so we're trying to make it easy for the uh people to do that. Thank you for that. I forget.

And then one more that I don't think that I should have maybe should have come up in our new business, but one of the things I think um we should be thinking about as a committee um there was recently a half marathon in town that was it was a running race. It was not bikes. Um but there was some um concern expressed in the community about um how that was uh how that was

conducted on the streets or how the streets could have been safer or the details could be safer and that kind of thing. So, I think maybe when we come back in the fall, we should maybe talk about whether there are things that this group could recommend to the select board about conditions that we would put on races that come to town because the select board does um approve events that

are coming up and we typically go to get police department recommendations. Yeah.

Um but I think that's a topic that maybe we can think about here about what to recommend that's included in the conditions. The marathon you refer to, is that the one that out of Horsen Beach about a week ago?

Yeah.

Yeah. I uh I happened to be riding my bike that morning and and well, in the middle of it.

Yeah. I And I don't know that much about what specifically happened. I only saw like the aftermath on social media, but um but I know this board does put conditions on event people are hosting events and um like we require a certain number of police details and things like that, but maybe there's more opportunity. I don't I'm not sure about that particular one, but there might be

more opportunity for us to have input on and maybe maybe it doesn't apply so much to to bikes, but if you like instructions like I don't I'm not that familiar with bike rigs, but um that they can only run have so many across or they have to have at certain intersections you have to have flaggers or like you I think we should really come up with some recommendations that the select board the um

um I'm not that familiar with them, but the the rules for these kinds of events are pretty well known. Um, one place we could reach out is to the SCBA because they sponsor the the Dartmouth Heritage, but it it's you know, there's a lot of planning involved in terms of um, you know, PE crossing guards and um, it's not a small undertaking.

No. And and I and this particular one was a marath was a half marathon. It was really long, but but I imagine bike routes are going to be even longer, right? So that's the how many volunteers do you need to have or how many which intersections are we thinking that they need more attention? I think that's something that we could maybe work on this fall.

Okay. And and that's a good point because Sandy, the bike um president has has planned the roots for the pedal for the path and so we why reinvent the wheel? We could pass that's a Marriott thing or a Matapo thing.

Yeah. Um, a while back, um, I had spoken and nothing came of it with the um the Westport conservation.

What's what's that?

Land trust. The Gaus and Land Trust.

The land trust. Yes. About some sort of an event where uh, people would bike to the various land trust.

Oh, yeah.

Um, properties. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Oh, I like that idea.

And and that might be something we could follow up on here in Westport.

Like to and I'm not saying there's like been anything wrong with any of the events that have happened. It's just I think that's good information for the because that the police make recommendations, but I think it would be good for to gather the experience of Yeah. Yeah. just the experience in the past and what to avoid.

And I love that idea.

There's several private bike groups um you know um arrange weekly events and and often those events are around Westport. I mean, we don't know it as the town, right?

But, you know, Saturday morning, two weeks ago, there were 100 people showed up at the old high school for a um Naragans Bay Wheelman event around Westport.

Yeah.

Yeah. They uh in the past they they were offering us when we were just getting started out when we could uh use paint on the road with arrows. You can't do it anymore.

Right. And so but they were were saying to me, Gail, that's it's already there.

You could just do a ride. It's already there. But they the town doesn't allow that anymore.

We're we're one of the few towns that don't.

Yes. Yeah.

Yeah. It's um I'm not sure what the museum was. Yeah. Yeah.

I don't know.

Um I do want to just show if I may just because this is the northern scenic green route. So, uh these were a mass uh uh bakos bank grant we got where we hired this landscape design uh group to do some feasibility and give uh some of the residents of Westport or what that might look like. And so this is the first part on um let's see Westport Sanford Road. This is just

coming off of Route Six. And this was the design. So the design is uh going to be a 5ft path, one in each direction. Uh and then it'll be in some cases right along the road. And um but in other cases there's going to be a medium where there's uh grass.

And so um this was the second one. And you might recognize this one because this is the area where uh where people um come off a 95.

So, they're coming off uh speeding off a 95 and stopping. So, we were very concerned about that bike path not being in in that uh side of the road. And so, that's addresses that. And these are all temporary. This is the first. This is not a completed done deal situation. And then this is going up the hill to Davis Road. And this is um there's only was only three panels in the whole um

bunch of concept drawings because we only have 2.7 miles. So these are available. They're on our Facebook page if anybody wanted to see it. And um is there anything else it does mention?
